One of the country’s master teachers, playwrights, actors, and storytellers lives here in Rappahannock County.
Her name is Julie Portman. She is the founder and Artistic Director of Ki Theatre and an award-winning writer and performer. She has been living in the area since 1986, sharing her gifts through theatre, story and community. Ki Theatre is physically located in Washington, Virginia. But Julie has performed, taught workshops and given school residencies in Warren, Fauquier, Culpeper and Madison Counties as well as Rappahannock. She also performs in countless cities and theatres across the United States and abroad.
