Always will be known, Long remembered to those that are gone..”. Forty years ago last month, just two years before Rappahannock County’s schools integrated and the old segregated Graded Schools closed forever, Scrabble School student Lucy Coleman Jackson wrote those lines as part of a poem about her school in the Rappahannock News. Last Saturday the Scrabble School had its first homecoming celebration since those days; the first annual Scrabble Homecoming.
