for the Smithsonian American Art Must..m, as well as more recent exhibitions on the history of American photography. Grundberg, a former critic for the New York Times, is author of “Crisis of the Real: Writings on Photography” since 1974 and the curator of the traveling exhibition “In Response to Place: Photographs from The Nature Conservancy’s Last Great Places.” He is also Chair of the Photography Department at the Corcoran College of Art and Design.
Foresta and Grundberg spoke to an overflow crowd at RAAC Library series in 2002, using the photographs of artists from Ansel Adams to William Wegman to explore the relationship between art and nature in recent landscape photographs.
