On October 28 Hearthstone School held its Annual Fairytale Walk. Families from the School and the Rappahannock Community gathered to watch as Hearthstone parents and teachers acted out The Princess and the Pea, The Three Billy Goats Gruff, Rapunzel, Peter Pan, Cinderella and The Fisherman 's Wife.
The Rappahannock 4H Performing Arts Group also performed Hansel & Gretel with a fun and unique twist (it was the parents who ran off and got caught by the witch, and not the children). Lyt Wood, dressed as the Green Man, led the audience to each fairytale with his talented recorder playing. Children received healthy and fun treats after each performance, ranging from home baked cookies to packets of pumpkin seeds for planting in 2006.
Hearthstone School is now getting ready for it’s upcoming Holiday Bazaar, which will be held on Saturday, December 3 and Sunday. December 4 in the School’s Community Room. Many wonderful gift items will be for sale, including art. pottery, beeswax candles, dolls. Holiday ornaments, jewelry, photography, handmade baskets, Hearthsong toys, books, ornaments, handdyed yarns, fresh green wreaths, and much more.
Hearthstone is very interested in having local artists and craftsmen participate in the Holiday Bazaar as vendors. Any interested artisans may call the School office at 540-987-9212 for dethils.
