About the Awards The WILK 'Dream Keeper" Awards program was established in 2003 by the Julia E. Boddie Scholarship Committee of Rappaharfnock County. VA as i means of celebrating the life of Rev Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and as a means of recognizing the efforts of local individuals and organizat.ons who aspire to the ideals that Dr King not only spoke about, but lived, fought and died for faith, justicefequality. community service and social activism

There are three categories of awards. 1) individual adult 2) individual student (grades 6-12) . 3) community organization or group Awards wiil be presented every other even year 06, 08. etc

AppMcation/Eljoibility: Any resident of Rappahannock County or relative of a resident Is eligible for application Application must be made In writino via U S mail or email (postmarked) on or before the published deadline (early December) Each application should include the following

1 no more than 250 words (one typed page)

2 cover sheet to include:

name, address, phone number, email address of person submitting the

application

c name, address, phone number, ehnail address of the nominee

o two references (with phone numbers or email) who know of the

nominee's work (non relatives)

2 Persons cannot nominate themselves

• The review committee may award up to 3 awards in each category: (for example, I". 2°“, 3rt place or Honorable Mention, or only a “winner" in each category); the committee may also determine that there will be no award for the year in review Awards will be announced at the upcoming Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration co-hosted by The Theatre and the Julia E. Boddie Scholarship Committee in January (to be held January 15. 2006 at 4 00 p.m )
