This past Tuesday the Tappahannock News conducted in unscientific and informal poll of' the public on the upcoming lection. County residents were accosted at gas stations, post offices, and walking in the -treet, and asked about their noting plans. This survey is not intended as a forecast of the Caction, but as a brief illustra1 it m of how some of Rappahani lock votes, or at least how they respond to questions about voting.
While 27 people were approached, only 14 of them turned out to be Rappahannock residents. Of these, three said they were not voting, two said they could not vote, presumably for legal reasons. Of the remaining people questioned, four said they would vote for Democratic candidates, and three said they would vote Republican, one w'as unsure. Notably, no't one respondent said they would split tickets. voting Republican for some posts and Democrat for others.
