recent memory to win our district. History makes it clear that it is nonetheless an uphill battle for Blubaugh.
In Rappahannock County, though, Blubaugh has an excellent chance of a decisive win.
Statewide, the Democratic slate may have a fail shot. A recent Washington Post poll gives Kaine a 3 point lead, and an even more recent Roanoke College poll shows an astonishing 8 point lead for Kaine over Kilgore. That poll has a margin of error of 5 percent, so the real lead could be as low as 3 percent or as high as 13 percent i very unlikely). There is less data at the lower levels. But a recent poll conducted by the conservative Richmond Times Dispatch suggests a toss-up for Lt. Governor, and a small lead for the Republican Creigh Deeds for Attorney General.
Even if the Democratic slate were to sweep the state though, with the exception of Blubaugh, odds somewhat favor the Republicans in Rappahannock.
Republican or Democrat, though, it is up to you to show up at the polls, and prove these musings right or wrong next Tuesday.
