After a year of public forums and contentious debate, the Washington Town Council has voted to approve an updated Comprehensive Plan for the town.
“It is a major accomplishment,” said Council member Claudia Mitchell.
The plan passed with little fanfare at a joint meeting of the Town Council and planning commission on April 12.
During the drafting process, the plan’s outline for Washington’s future wastewater system received the most attention, but the final Comprehensive Plan is more than that.
