Richardson replied, “I want the kids to know what it’s like to worry about the success of something. It’s not just about putting the seed in the ground and walking away. I want them to learn the value of fussing over something until they reap the rewards. It’s good we have this program so they can start early.”
And reap the rewards they will. Students hope to sell the trees at a profit seven years from now, but not without some work. Farm-to-Table students and interns from the high school will help keep the tree patch mowed and weeds clipped, and trees pruned
