On April 29 at 10:30 a.m. come for a walk in the vineyard with owners Bill and Aleta to see what’s happening to the vines in Springtime. This is where fine wine begins, and well tour the oldest vines, 2 & 3 year old youngsters, and the baby Nebiolo vines. If you’ve ever dreamed of having a few grape vines in the back yard, come and see what’s needed to plan your project. Fee: $6 Includes one hour tour and a glass of wine at the tasting room afterwards. April 30: Lecture counter terrorism
Richard A Clarke, international expert on security,White House Advisor to three Presidents,and author of “Against All Enemies” will be speaking on counter terrorism and his government experience. Following the lecture there will be refreshments and book signing under the tent adjacent to the Theatre. Wildflower Walks
Bruce Jones has been naturalizing his property in Tiger Valley for years, reintroducing many native plants that are now scarce in the county and attracting native wildlife in the process. Join Bruce for a stroll around his property to see spring wildflowers and to hear about the reintroduction process. Wildflowers you might see include columbine, trillium, red buckeye, Virginia fringe tree, marsh marigold, spring larkspur, shooting star, trailing arbutus, and bird’s foot violet. The walks are April 30 at 2 p.m. and May 9 at 3 p.m. The event is free, but reservations are required and they’re filling up fast.
