Lightning strikes
The burning ban in Rappahannock County has been lifted by County Administrator John McCarthy. “We’ve had a little over two inches of rain during the last weeks and when I spoke to the fire chiefs at all of the fire companies, they agreed that it was okay to take the ban off,” said McCarthy. Flint Hill resident Geoff Gowen was up very early on Monday morning and captured this photo of lightning striking the peak at 1:15 a.m. bringing with it lots of rain.
