Chappell’s Corner

April. All grading for the field upgrade and for the new track surface has been completed. The contractor is beginning to install the track / field drainage system and the built-in irrigation system for the field.

County Administrator John McCarthy has worked with a contractor to donate a well for the irrigation system. Once the well is dug and producing, Premier Sports Fields will install the sod on the field. All soccer games and practices have been moved to the field behind RCES until the work is completed. The new field should be ready for fall sports.

Track bid received

Precision Sports Surfaces, Inc. of Charlottesville was the sole bidder for the track construction project. The bid is $195,508. This is higher than the budgeted figure of $153,000. The School Board has 30 days to make a decision on the bid.
