President Dave Hilty welcomed two new members to the Rappahannock Lions Club on Thursday, April 13. Jim Blubaugh, Washington, and Paul Laski of the Boston area received the Lions International pin and distinctive blue and gold hat as symbols of their induction to membership conducted by Lion Bob Darby, Membership Chairman. The ceremony was held during the Club’s regular meeting at The Public House in Flint Hill.
Lion Jim and Lion Paul will join the over 50 active club members in providing services to the Rappahannock County community. President Hilty, in his welcoming remarks commented, “The Lions motto is, *We Serve’, and we fully expect that Lions Jim and Paul will contribute immeasurably to the Club’s efforts.
They join a long line of distinguished men and women that have preceded them."
In 2008, the Rappahannock Lions Club will commemorate 50 years of serving Rappahannock County. Notables that were Charter Members include the late Carson Johnson and Paul Nichols, among others. Each had also served as Club President.
