Samantha Brown says tha there is something specia about the track and field facil ities at George Mason Higl School that make her a bette athlete.
A year ago, Brown scored i personal best in the high jum] while competing at Georg' Mason. She cleared the 5-foot one-inch mark.
Wednesday afternoon, shi bettered that as she tied thi Rappahannock High Schoo record in the high jump Johanna Day set the mark a 5-2fin 1979.
“I was trying to beat thi record,” Brown said, “so I did n’t want to know what thi height was. It kind of psyche me out.”
