April 18: Free Clinic
Rappahannock Free Clinic will be open on April 18 at the County Health Department on Main Street in Washington. For more information call the Fauquier Free Clinic at 540-347-0394.
April 18: Inorchard meeting
Rappahannock Extension Office invites each of you to attend an In-orchard meeting scheduled to be held in the orchard of Bryant Lee at 11 a.m. for a tour of the orchard, followed by a discussion of current insect and disease control recommendations, and other orchard management practices. Located near the intersection of Rt. 522 and Rt. 211 at Massies’ Comer, new packing shed on west bound lane at Rt. 211/522. Call the Extension Office at 540-675-3619 to register tor this program or for information. After the orchard tour you will have a bagged lunch, bring your own, drinks will be furnished by the host orchardist. You will adjourn around 1 p.m.
April 19: Relay for Life Team
Captains’ Meeting
The third meeting for all team captains of the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life is Thursday, April 19 at 7 p.m. at the Washington Baptist Church. Any one thinking about participating as a Team Captain in the Relay is invited as well. This is the last day for registering your team so that your team’s name will be on the back of the t-shirt. Team captains should be prepared to register and also provide their team's t-shirt sizes by this upcoming meeting. Teams can still register after this date but team names will not be on the tshirt. You can also volunteer other help. Refreshments will be served. The Relay will take place on May 19 and 20 at the Rappahannock County Elementary School. April 20: "Flags of Our Fathers”
The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community (RAAC) will sponsor the film, “Rags of Our Fathers” on April 20th at 8 p. m. at The Theatre on Gay Street, Washington. Adults $6, students $4, children $3.
April 21: Fodderstack Race
Race starts at 10 a.m. from the north end of Rint Hill on Route 522 at the Warehouse and ends at the courthouse in Washington. Pre-registration by April 16 with family rates available. Call Jean Lillard at 540-675-3670 or John McCarthy at 540-675-5330 for application or pick one up in town.
