those special people who have lost their battles with the disease and celebrate those who have survived. In addition, cancer education takes place. The theme of this year’s event is “Rockin’ Rodeo Relay” and some of the dress, food and entertainment will be associated with that theme. There may even be a “riding” bull if we can get insurance to cover potential accidents.
The third meeting for all team captains of the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life is Thursday, April 19 at 7 p.m. at the Washington Baptist Church. Any one thinking about participating as a Team Captain in the Relay is invited as well. This is the last day for registering your team so that your team’s name will be on the back of the t-shirt. Team captains should be prepared to register and also provide their team’s t-shirt sizes by this upcoming meeting. Teams can still register after this date but team names will not be on the t-shirt. You can also volunteer other help. Refreshments will be served.
