Stonewall Jackson, a state champion runner up and a long time formidable opponent for the Panthers, was unable to stop a late rally by the Rappahannock Varsity Boy’s Soccer team.
“We haven’t won a game against them in over 3 years,” said head Coach Shay Bell about Rappahannock’s rivalry with Stonewall Jackson.
Monday’s game looked like more of the same as Stonewall burst onto their home field scoring 2 points during the first half. The Panthers left the field with nothing but a concussion for one of its star players, Alex Ramey.
After Coach Bell’s midgame pep talk, the team played on with the same results; some ball possession, but no goals. Finally with 18 minutes left in the game, Arne Utne burst out from the group, landing a goal neatly
