I have contacted the Attorney General’s Office for the State of Virginia to raise questions about the political motivation and timing of an investigation based on 4-year-old allegations leveled at the Culpeper County Sheriffs Office by a former deputy, Scott Jenkins.
Until now I have said little about these accusations because I knew they were without merit. My detractors claim I hide behind a cloak of maintaining the high road, but I can no longer take these allegations quietly because the falsehoods are smearing the reputations of my staff and myself.
