My only choice was to continue to crawl outside through the mud and stones to get to the cell phone in the car. Progress was very slow and it was getting dark when I finally reached and opened the front passenger's door. I could see the cell phone sticking out of the instrument panel, but couldn’t reach it. Fortunately, I was able to reach a window scraper and knocked the cell phone onto the floor. I couldn’t see where it had landed and still couldn’t reach it.
All day I had been crawling on my broken side because I couldn’t turn over. I couldn’t use my good limbs to push myself up into the car. Having used up all my energy, I was now exhausted and shivering uncontrollably. I knew I was at the end of my rope.
