While I've never been
happier than here in
Rappahannock. I've
also never been
busier.

reopening of the Blue Rock inn and restaurant and the redevelopment of the former Flint Hill Public House as examples of the sort that should be encouraged, Biniek says one of the most promising ventures in the county is the rise of direct-distribution marketing cooperatives for farmers.
“I'm excited about a new business that Jerome Niessen is starting to help local farmers market their products directly to consumers in Northern Virginia,” he says, referring to Niessens notquite-opened Rappahannock Natural Foods Cooperative, of which Belle Meade Farm is a member.
“One of the greatest assets of this county is its scenic beauty and its farmland,” Biniek says. “Next to our people, our farms and beauty are what need to stay here." Biniek sees this future being made possible by operations like Niessen s, which is only one of several recent farm-coop direct-distribution startups in the county and nearby.
