A recent letter to the editor
contained not a word refuting an earlier letter it criticized - that Delegate Todd Gilbert seriously undermined his credibility by claiming he and his Republican colleagues formed an agency for combating economic emergencies when, in fact, it was created bv Democratic governor, now senator, Mark Warner. The letter instead assailed the writer of the earlier piece It's an old trick; if you can't beat the message. beat on the messenger.
But the letter raised publicly another issue commonly talked about privately, the role of non-natives who've chosen to come here. As one of them, I have some thoughts. Of course, I don’t necessarily speak for any of my numerous other fellow refugees from elsewhere.
