Miss Bernadine M. Wilson of Sperryville has accepted the position of Librarian at the Rappahannock Library located on Gay Street in Washington. Miss Wilson retired in 1968 after 33 years as a civilian employee of the U S. Army Corps of Engineers.
David Thornhill and C. G. Thornhill of Boston received awards for participation in the recent Orange Area Hog Show Extension Agent Lee Brumback presented a check to each David took second place for showing his Duroc gilt and C G. was winner of a showmanship award and a sportsmanship award. He received a check and a trophy.
A group of blind children from the metropolitan area spent a day in the country Saturday at Bunree Farm, Amissville, home of Mr. And Mrs. D. G. Laing and Dr. and Mrs. Noel Laing The day's outing was sponsored and arranged by a Jaycee Chapter from the District of Columbia It included a cook-out lunch, ball games, pony rides and a program of music by a four-piece combo and soloist, all handicapped.
