The RAAC Community Theatre, formerly Ki Theatre, is bringing the beloved “Shepherds’ Play" back to Rappahannock this Christmas.
Written and first performed in the 16th century by the villagers of the town of Oberufer in Germany, the play tells the story of Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem, and the travels of the shepherds to see the Christ child there (much as the Three Kings did in the “Kings’ Play" presented bv the Theatre last Christmas.) #
Auditions are Sunday, Sept. 20 from 2:30-5 p.m. at the Theatre of the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and Community. Performances are on Dec. 11, 12, and 13.
“There are parts for old people, young people, men, women, boys, girls, actors, singers, experienced folks and complete neophytes," Director Peter Hornbostel said.
