Germans invaded the town of Washington on Monday, armed with cameras and sound equipment to film a news broadcast scheduled for air play on television station ARD Wednesday, November 1. But Rappahannock residents who were Interviewed for the program won’t get a chance to watch themselves perform unless their reception is nothing short of miraculous. ARD is not a local affiliate of ABC, NBC or CBS or a public television station. Instead, it’s one of the two noncommercial German networks and will broadcast the segment filmed in Washington from Cologne, West Germany.
The theme of the threeminute news short is small town America’s attitude towards the November 7 elections. Correspondent
