Trott and his wife live in a log house on a heavily wooded tract in McLean. It is there that he does most of his work, sitting for hours in a blind to capture a bird as he has perceived it—vital,_m— tensely alive and beautiful.
"I'm hard to classify but I like the 1 Gth century term, naturalist, which implies interest in all areas of the natural world and the idea of sharing the element of discovers in that world.'' Trott explained. "The term 'naturalist' also suggests a seeking and searching—and the realization that there arc wonderful mvsteries in every flower and bird."
Iron's program at the library will begin at 7:30. Admission is open to the public and tree. His presentation will include photographs of the common— and not so common—birds, mammals, wild flowers and trees one mav see m Virginia if onlv a little time is taken to notice.
