Keesey has always had an interest in co-operatives. He seems them as a form of grass roots production through which people who can create and produce have a direct line to the consumer. He has been the prime force of motivation behind the market, doing much of the organization himself, though he is quick to add: “I do the things that 1 know how to do—but there are a lot of things that I don’t know how to do.”
