Wakefield Country Day School in Huntly announces the appointment of Mrs. Mary Jane Reynolds to the English faculty of the Preparatory School. A native of Maine, Mrs. Reynolds attended schools in Virginia and received her B.A. and M.A. degrees from George Washington University in Washington, D. C.
Reynolds has been a teacher of secondary school English at the Pace Academy, St. Edward School and Lake Braddock Secondary School in Fairfax County. She is also a free lance writer.
Author of numerous published works, Reynolds was the 1970 winner of the Creative Writing Award of the Hollins College Literary Festival and the Rinehard Award for Creative Writing. She has been the State Manager of the University of Virginia Players and of the Hampton-Sydney Repetoire Theatre.
While at Lake Braddock School, Mrs. Reynolds was the founder and sponsor of The Fourth Estate, the school’s literary magazine which won first place in the Virginia Forensic League, 1977.
