The evening program at Avon Hall will begin at 5:30 p.m., when Dr. Russell J. Parkinson, FAA licensed Commercial pilot for hot-air balloons will begin inflating his 65-x35’ orange and yellow balloon named “Hug-inland.” He and his crew will be airborne by 6 p.m., and they will be prepared to take
passengers aloft to see Washington as the birds do. These will be restricted, tethered flights, so don’t worry about soaring off into the wild blue yonder.
While the balloon takes people up and down, the Fife and Drum Corps will provide the proper drum rolls. This is the third year that the group has come to Washington, so many already know how
