In the churchyard of Trinity Episcopal Church at Washington on July 4th a White Elephant sale will be held which promises to be of great interest. Here will be found a variety of objects, too numerous to mention, but including a mantel from an old home in the county. Donors wishing transportation may call 675-3522, 675-3310, 987-8213 or 9878680. Ice cream will also be offered for sale.
A Marie Pietri painting, given by her to the church, will be given away also, Pietri, an accomplished sculptor, later turned to paintjng!r*md accomplished her new discipline so well that her work has been accepted for showing by a major Washington gallery. Her husband, columnist James J. Kilpatrick, says it was “as if a concert pianist in middle age had decided to become a virtuoso on the flute-same field, different instruments”. The painting is presently on display at the Rappahannock Library.
