Orange was judged best appearing company and firemen in parade and Falls Church came the longest distance. Washington’s 47 Mack was the oldest motorized unit in service.
Culpeper was declared best rescue unit and Washington was second; Loudoun County Pepperettes were the best drum corps and the Evergreens senior majorettes were first and Red Coats, second with Loudoun County tiny tots first and Blue Bells second. Dana Kiefer and Mary Gray were judged first and second respectively in solo majorette competition.
Amissville Ruritans placed first as best civic float with Culpeper Hobo’s as best comic. Rappahannock Farmers Market was named best commercial float and Troop 50 Amissville Boy Scouts were judged best marching unit. The Ladies Auxiliary was first place and Lisa Olinger of Remington was best honorary fire chief. Tutwiler’s antique 1929 Studebaker was the best antique vehicle.
