broken water fountain noticed by the Supervisors during their visit to the high school had been repaired for the fifth time this year.
In response to a suggestion from Wood, Bloomer indicated that the shop closet used for building trades classes last year would be remodeled with a window and fan installed.
He also said that he’d investigated renting or buying used trailers rather than purchasing the three new units included in the proposed 1979-80 school budget.
According to Bloomer, renting wouldn’t be economically justified since it would cost approximately the same amount as purchasing. As for buying used trailers, he reported that he’d been unable to find a school division with any units for sale.
The Supervisors agreed to hold a meeting on Friday, June 29, at 9 a.m. in the court house to vote formally on the 1979-80 budget and set the tax rate for the coming year.
Following an executive session on contracts and personnel. Col. Luke reported that the board had authorized him to write a letter to the State Health Department, requesting an extension in employment for local Health Department Director Dr. R. S. LeGarde. Luke said the action came in response to state pressure for LeGarde’s retirement.
