Mrs. Buster Hitt and Mrs. Virginia Jenkins visited Mrs. Margaret Butler at the Oak Springs Nursing Home, Warrenton, on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Jenkins and family of Frederick, Md., were Sunday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Buster Hitt.
Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Walker of Fredericksburg and Miss Olive Soutter of the Baptist Home in Culpeper were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Johnson. Monday guests of the Johnsons were Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Harris of Old Fort, N.C.

Sets Record
Rappahannock County and the state as a whole tallied a record breaking turkey harvest during the spring gobbler season which ended May 14.
County Game Warden Jim Bankston reported that 42 turkeys were taken here compared to 33 during the 1978 season.
Throughout Virginia, birds killed totaled 3,812—an increase of 49.5 percent over the 2,549 killed in 1978. The previous record spring gobbler harvest came in spring of 1977 when a total of 2,893 birds were harvested.
Top counties for the spring season were Bedford with 113, Wise with 112, Giles with 102, Albemarle with 100, Augusta with 92 and Nelson and Bath with 88 each. Jack W. Raybourne, chief of Virginia’s Game Division, attributed the record harvest to exceptionally good hatches statewide during the springs of 1977 and 1978.
