Effective July 1, home improvement contractors must furnish the State Registration Board for Contractors information on the structure of their business in order to comply with new state law.
The new law is the result of legislation aimed at controlling incompetent, fraudulent or fly-by-night home improvement contractors now operating throughout the state.
It will allow the State Board to keep tabs on contractors by recording the location and name of the business as well as the name and address of the responsible individuals who operate the business.
