Concert Set
A benefit gospel concert for a youngster with severe kidney illness will be held Sunday, July 1, at the Winchester Recreation Park beginning at 1 p.m.
Proceeds from the concert will go towards 20-year-old Greg Shanholtz’s hospital expenses. Greg lost his first kidney at age five. His second kidney was removed this January.
He has had 13 major operations and many minor operations while fighting for his life over the past 15 years. Since January, he’s been in four separate hospitals a total of nine fmes besides making the trip from Winchester to Martinsburg every other day to be placed on a dialysis machine for four to six hours each visit.
Gospel groups, including George Kendall. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Shoppert. the Golden Strings, Kenny Johnson, Keith Kearns, the Kings Two, Cheryl and Dave Alter. Greg Stevens, Pure Hope, the Gospeletts, the Roby Family and Fred Fox and the Middleburg Harmonizers, have donated their time and talents for the benefit performance.
