Bloomer noted that opportunities for gifted and talented children in Rappahannock have been steadily expanded over the past three years. The program started in 1977-78 with purchase of computer equipment and identification of gifted and talented students. For the talented an instrumental music program at the elementary and high schools began in 1978-79 along with computer math for the gifted taught by Don Bomberger at RCHS. Currently, the computer math classes have been expanded to include science. In October, the instrumental music classes will resume.
