In an enrollment report, Dr. Bloomer told the school board that as of the tenth day of school, there were five more students at the elementary school and 20 less at the high school than projected. He attributed the decline in anticipated high school enrollment to new state regulations on health records and predicted that enrollment at RCHS would reach projected levels within a couple of months.
Enrollment currently stands at 698 for the elementary and 466 for the high school.
Under the new regulations, all students had to have completed medical records on file by September 1 in order to enter school.
Bloomer reported, however, that an Attorney General’s opinion issued last week held that the regulations applied to new and transfer students only.
