October 6 is the last day citizens may register to vote in the November 6 in General Election. Anyone new in the county or anyone who has moved their place of residence in Rappahannock must contact General Registrar Ruth Kilby at the courthouse in Washington before or on that date in order to qualify to vote.

The Constitution bestows the right and privilege to elect our governmental representatives on all U. S. citizens. This right is exercised far too infrequently, especially in nonpresidential years.

But that’s just the time that one person can have the most impact. A single vote will hardly make the difference in a Presidential or Senatorial
