Lemon Adkins, who’s in his seventies and just got out of the hospital where he had an operation for flibitus on his right leg, showed me how very swollen his leg is now. Obviously, his circulation problem has not been solved. His “new reality” is not a remarkable improvement, a frequent and frustrating occurence as we grow older.
After “Seven Dreams” ended, the audience applauded warmly, and then shared their feelings about the piece. “It was real nice, if you understood it,” Ethel Bailey said, expressing the same confusion that often happens after having a dream.
Lucy Hodgson said that in her mind’s eye, everyone remained angels throughout the dance. "And that little girl in the pajamas who never said anything (Sally), boy, did she do a great job. Angels, you’re all angels,” she told the company.
