Commonwealth attorney candidate Peter H. Luke, 32, is a graduate of the University of Virginia Law School. He and his wife, Sharon Genebach Luke, a county attorney with offices in Washington, live in Amissville.
In postgraduate studies, Luke completed courses under the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate Staff and at George Washington University’s National Law Center. He is a member of the Rappahannock Task Force on Youth and served as a lieutenant in the Marshall Rescue Squad.

—What are your qualifications for commonwealth attorney?
Luke: “I’ve been practicing law since 1972, the year I graduated from University of Virginia Law School and passed the Virginia Bar. I was a prosecutor for the United States Air Force for approximately two years and prosecuted the complete spectrum of criminal cases.
“I’ve further had experience advising various groups of terms of environmental law questions, interpretation of federal and state laws.
