—What about the potential conflict of interest in your position as advisor to the board of supervisors with your father as chairman of the board?
Luke: “I don’t foresee any 'situation where there will be a conflict. I don’t believe that having two members of the same family holding elective office in the county is a conflict of interest in itself. I’m not saying that one couldn’t imagine some contorted version of facts where there might be a conflict and in those cases, if they ever arose, I think my father would have to disqualify himself from voting.
“I can’t really think of an example where there would be a conflict. One area where a conflict may have arisen was salary but as of January 1 of this year, the state will pay the entire commonwealth attorney’s salary so the county won’t even be in the picture.
