Gravely, however, is enthusiastic about the prospects and believes he has the issues and power base to bring it off.
He has set March as the target date for having his troops in line and ready to move out.
“1 would like to think,” he said, “that this will be the most concentrated drive to mobilize btack voting power in the history of the state. I think it will also be the most successful.”
If he is right, it could also prove to be one of the most significant political developments in the history of the state, and one sure to cause some sleepless nights for the regular Democratic and Republican power brokers.
