Mrs. Wayne Carwile of1 Culpeper was feted with a stork shower Friday at the home of Mrs. Carson Johnson in Sperryville.
There were approximately 35 guests from Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church present.

Walter F. Dunford of Baltimore, Maryland, was convicted recelitly in U. S. District Court for collecting ginseng roots within Shenandoah National Park. In a trial before U. S. Magistrate Glen E. Conrad in Charlottesville, Virginia, Dunford was fined $125.00, and the roots he had collected were confiscated.
Ginseng roots are valued for their medicinal qualities 'and are commonly exported out of the United States. I Park Rangers note that all plants including ginseng are protected within the National Park, and a possible fine of $500.00 and 6 months jail sentence far outweighs the market price currently paid for ginseng. Charges are pending against six other individuals recently apprehended digging ginseng in 'the Park.
