Rappahannock Staff Writer The Washington court house was practically empty for Monday’s public hearing by the Rappahannock p6ard of Supervisors on the, proposed 1980-81 budget. With' the exception of local law enforcement representatives and a delegation from the school board, the supervisors heard only three speakers, all addressing a single issue and all in favor of county-owned cars for the sheriff's department.
The allocation of $20,000 to provide three vehicles however, has already been dropped from the proposed budget and there appears little likelihood it will be restored since further cuts are necessary in order to balance outlay with revenue.
As it currently stands, the preliminary budget calls for expenditures ot $2.783.160—an increase of approximately 18 per cent over the current year. Using an estimated $121,817 from
