In trying to wiggle out of the controversy raised by the Nationwide Pentecostal Evangelistic Association’s campground, the Rappahannock County Board of Zoning Appeals has focused publicity on a glaring hole in the county’s zoning ordinance.

The residential subdivision zone (RS-11 “designed to provide low density residential areas. . . create a harmonious residential community and promote a suitable environment for family life” makes no provision for residences.

Article six which includes all RS-1 regulations lists criteria on rezonings tied to lot size and number of lots in a proposed development and notes that provisions in the comity’s subdivision ordinance applv to property zoned RS1.
