"I was surprised to find out we’re the only county in the state that doesn't furnish the sheriffs department with cars,” said Fred Schaefer of Sperryville. Maintaining that local law enforcement has been neglected in the past, Schaefer affirmed his support for the purchase of countyowned cars. “I don’t think Rappahannock is the wealthiest county in the state but 1 don't think it’s the poorest either.” he concluded.
