At the urging of supervisor H. B. Wood, Rappahannock's board agreed Monday to direct the county planning commission to begin work on a county-wide use value taxation ordinance.
After the supervisors voted to set public hearings for July 7 on Rappahannock's first comprehensive plan and C. E. Johnson's agricultural district application. Wood proposed considering land use taxation at the same time.
Commonwealth’s attorney Douglas Baumgardner noted that the possibility of adopting a use value taxation ordinance would first have to be studied by the planning commission before the supervisors could act.
