Wakefield Country Day School held its third annual Spring Horse and Pony Show Saturday, May 17, at the Fauquier Livestock Exchange where junior riders from Frederick, Warren, Clarke and Rappahannock counties competed in equitation classes and gymkhana events.
The show, a fund raiser for the school, provided an afternoon of fun and games for all participants and was judged by Miss K.T. Jones of Orlean.
First place blue ribbons were awarded riders in the following categories: WalkTrot (13 and under), Susannah McClellan of Huntly; Hunt Seat Equitation (13 and under), Billy Germelman of Berryville; Hunt Seat Equitation (14 to 18) and Pony Working Hunter, Anne Flues of Warrenton; Equitation Over Fences (novice division), Nancy Massie of Washington.
Marion Eastham of Ben Venue won Equitation Over Fences (intermediate) and Junior Working Hunter Over Fences. The first place winner for Gambler’s Choice, a special high challenge course with fences at three feet, was Billy Germelman. Judged Best All Around rider
