“We’ve had the shortsleeve shirt under consideration for some time,” said Colonel D. M. Slane, Department Superintendent, in making the announcement. ‘‘A trooper’s comfort is of utmost importance to us, but we wanted to be sure to obtain a material and design which would continue the sharp and neat appearance the public has come to expect.”
Uniformed members of the State Police, for a number of years, have been issued lightweight summer trousers and straw hats. The short-sleeve shirts, like the summer hats, may be worn through October 15 of this year and will then be evaluated for future use.
Meeting Change
The Rappahannock County School Board will hold it regular monthly meeting for June on Monday, June 9, at 7:30 in the elementary school library.
Kinseys Have Son
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hamilton Kinsey of Front Royal are the parents of a son, Kevin Glenn, born May 27, 1980, in Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal.
Grandparents of the infant are Mr. and Mrs. Frank Huff of Flint Hill and Mrs. Forrest Brady of Front Royal. Mrs. Ethel Bible of Franklin, W. Va., is the greatgrandmother.
