The Rappahannock Recreation is sponsoring a Men and Women's singles tennis tournament which has a deadline for entries Monday. June 9.
To qualify for playing, you must be a resident or landowner in Rappahannock County; entry fee of $2 must be paid by June 9 along with registration; each player must furnish one can of new tennis balls. Two out of three sets will be played and in the event of a 6-6 set, a 9-point tie-breaker will be used. The schedule of draw will be posted at Bradford’s Store in Flint Hill on Tuesday, June 10.
Each contestant will be required to get in touch with his or her opponent and set a time and place for their match. Scores should be reported to Jean Lillard at 675-3661 or Diane Bruce 675-3621.
The finals are scheduled for Saturday. June 28 at the Krebser’s court at Huntly. Women’s finals will be held at 2 p.m., followed by the men’s finals.
