All the village shops will be open to display their wares. Bill Cook will demonstrate the art of weaving split oak baskets. Nol Putnam will be blacksmithing while his wife. Ann Friend Clark, paints her lovely hand thrown pottery. Weaving, canning and spinning are a few of the other fascinating demonstrations planned for the celebration.

This country style Fourth of July is planned by the Washington Business Council for the enjoyment of the community and its visitors. All are welcome to join the fun.

Washington is located 23 miles west of Warrenton on Route 211 about an hour and 25 minutes drive from “Big Washington”. The festival will open at 10 a.m. and continue until 4 p.m. at which time the fire department will have a marvelous barbeque of chicken and pig roast. The grand finale to the fun-filled day will be the annual fireworks demonstration held at Avon Hall, just down the street.
